Do strains matter in edibles?
I thought strains didn’t work via edibles and that only cannabis terpenes are effective...
There is no research to support the argument that edibles containing a certain terpene profile will not provide benefits directly related to its “strain name” or that cannabis terpenes are the only terpenes that are effective.
Think about substances like essential oils or lavender tea. For example, lavender is high in the terpene linalool just like the GDP terpene profile that we use in our products. Linalool is a natural sedative and anti-inflammatory/pain-reducing agent. If you drink a cup of lavender tea, generally most people will find themselves more relaxed and soothed, usually subsiding insomnia and assisting in the process of falling asleep. Science says a terpene is a terpene under a microscope, and that terpenes are crucial to ensure obtaining the entourage effect that cannabis can provide. In short, all linalool works the same when digested, regardless of what it is derived from, and strains DO matter in edibles.
