The Founders’ Journey
Our journey began with two individuals, Nadeem and Thomas, who overcame personal hardships and found purpose. Nadeem and Thomas both experienced challenging upbringings that shaped their mission. Nadeem grew up in a home affected by physical violence and substance abuse, while Thomas lost his mother to a pharmaceutical overdose. Their personal experiences with trauma and healing led them to share a deep belief in the therapeutic benefits of cannabis.
The two first met in 2008 through their mutual love of cannabis. Thomas went on to serve in the U.S. Navy for five years, making Baked Bros a proud veteran-owned company. Meanwhile, Nadeem became one of Arizona’s first patient caregivers and later expanded his experience by helping to open a dispensary and cultivation facility in Washington.
The Birth of Baked Bros
By 2013, Nadeem and Thomas were both back in Arizona and saw an opportunity to bring high-quality edibles to the market. They started crafting their own products and selling them at the Phoenix Cannabis Farmers Markets. Their partnership was the perfect balance of science and passion—Thomas brought analytical expertise, while Nadeem infused the business with deep-rooted cannabis culture.
In 2014, they took their biggest leap yet, dedicating all their resources to competing in the High Times Cannabis Cupin Denver, Colorado. It was a defining moment for the brand. When the People’s Choice Award for Best Edible Product was announced, Baked Bros' Sour Kush Kid gummies took home the top prize. This victory catapulted the brand into the spotlight, providing the motivation and recognition needed to get their products into dispensaries and establish themselves as a serious player in the industry.
